NEET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates appearing for NEET UG 2026 must fulfill the eligibility conditions prescribed by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the National Testing Agency (NTA). The key requirements include age limit, educational qualification, mandatory subjects, and minimum qualifying marks in Class 12.

NEET 2026 Age Limit

The candidate must complete 17 years of age on or before 31 December 2026. Therefore, candidates should be born on or before 31 December 2009. There is currently no upper age limit for NEET UG.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board with:

  • Physics

  • Chemistry

  • Biology/Biotechnology

  • English

as compulsory subjects.

Minimum PCB Marks Required

To be eligible for NEET UG 2026, candidates should have obtained the following minimum aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB):

  • General / EWS: 50%

  • General-PwBD: 45%

  • SC / ST / OBC: 40%

  • SC/ST/OBC-PwBD: 40%

Most Important Rule

If you have Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English in Class 12 and are 17 years old by 31 December 2026, you are generally eligible to appear for NEET UG 2026.
