C
A-I, B-IV, C-II, D-III
D
A-III, B-I, C-IV, D-II
Explanation
In 1928, Frederick Griffith, in a series of experiments with Streptococcus pneumoniae witnessed a miraculous transformation in the bacteria. The unequivocal proof that DNA is the genetic material came from the experiments of Alfred Hershey and Martha Chase (1952). They worked with viruses that infect bacteria called bacteriophages. It was only in 1953 that James Watson and Francis Crick, based on the X-ray diffraction data proposed a very simple but famous Double Helix model for the structure of DNA. Very soon, Francis Crick proposed the Central dogma in molecular biology, which states that the genetic information flows from DNA→RNA→Protein.
